90 miles to Burney

We continued our journey to Burney and this stretch was characterized by:
1.- Poison oak and other trail threats
In this section the trail goes through lower elevations where poison oak thrives and therefore, we’ve had to be careful with touching this poisonous plant. Miles is especially sensitive to it. So far we haven’t shown any rashes from it - let’s keep our fingers crossed!
2.- Meeting new and old trail friends
The big nobo bubble of people has ended and the sobos have clustered a little more. We‘ve found our friend Bullfrog again, whom we met back in our early days in Washington. We also met a nobo, Silver, who became an honorary sobo for a day as she headed back to town (having forgotten to charge her battery, and therefore being mapless). Antoine and Sophie, Trail Magic, and some others too!
With Bullfrog and Silver, we went to “the most epic rope swing on the PCT”:

3.- Thunderstorms
We got caught in a thunderstorm but we were luckily at lower elevations with lowered trees, so we managed to stay safe and not get very wet. We so witnessed a bright pink sky which was so unreal! Photo with no edits.

4.- Bodies of water
The amazing rope swing and Burney falls were our highlights. If you live in California, head to Burney falls and stay at their canon. What a beautiful area.

It was also pretty hot and we went through several rivers where we swam:

5.- BMGR!
Burney Mountain Guest Ranch was our final stop. Christine and Kyran run the ranch and have all the things hikers would want. A pool, laundry, a little resupply store, restaurant with great portions and great vibes. We treated ourselves to a bed and enjoyed our time there.

And we’re headed to Old Station, leaving in a few minutes! Then, we’re taking another short break from the trail… anyone guess where we’re going? Would love to read your guesses on the comments!
