Crater Lake National Park
This place is so majestic that it deserves a full blog post!

The PCT doesn’t actually go next to Crater Lake, but there’s an alternate route that takes you through the rim of the lake. Everyone takes the alternate route. If you ever find yourselves in this area, we highly recommend you walk on it! Easy trail, outstanding views.

We even took an extra detour to go swim in the lake. Miles had already swam in the lake during a road trip, but Daphne had never swam in the lake before. So we set to Cleetwood Cove. We hitched to the trailhead and then hiked down to the lake. This Cove is the only point to access the water in Crater Lake and the trail will be closed for renovations from 2027-2029 so we couldn’t not go. Miles even jumped off a cliff!

We had an awesome day! One of the best in the trail so far. And it was topped off by a good meal in a restaurant and new shoes for Daphne.
